Czech development cooperation: Adherence to the principles of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the range the Czech Republic fulfills the international commitments stipulated by the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness. And, if it needed, to find factors which influence fulfilling of the declaration commitments. This is done by analysis of the documents and interviews. The analysis of the data related to the supplied development aid is the core of the thesis. The aid depends on these key principles: ownership, alignment, harmonization, managing for results and mutual accountability. Two projects of the Czech Development Agency between years 2013 and 2015 in Cambodia and the State of Palestine are analyzed in two case studies. The operationalization of the terms and following own methodical framework application to the output data led to a result, whether the international commitments are (not) complied with. The performed research implies that commitments are fulfilled rather insufficiently in the Cambodia case, whereas the commitments in State of Palestine case were fulfilled completely. A new innovative approach was crucial. The projects are directed by Palestinian partner. In Cambodia, the critical principle is the mutual accountability because of the lack of the capacities (mostly in funding) and unsatisfactory management. There is a...

Bc.: Did food security in Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam countries improved after Millennial development goals?, Diploma thesis Topic of the thesis is a scrutiny of food security in the Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam countries after Millennium development goal were set. The goal is to confirm or refuse the hypothesis of the improvement of food security in CLMV countries after Millennium development goals. The goal would be examined according to the results of the analysis of the data for the period 1990 to 2015. The analysis shall be done using the composite indicator and the trend will be also analysed. The purpose is to create a suggestion that would help improve the situation in this region.

The goal of this thesis is to present overview of approaches selected countries to financial contributions of development cooperation in relation to the educational levels of specific countries. The first part is dealing with basic concepts important for this topic. Described are principles of development cooperation of the chosed countries. States are compared with help of composite indicator in 2008 and 2014 in the second part. Orientation of investment based on the outcome given by composite indicators is evaluated in conclusion.

The aim of this theses is to identify cultural determinants which have influence on African lifestyle and to find out which political, economic and social consequences they could create. The output of research is based on the confirmation our hypothesis that the cultural gap, or rather the clash of traditional and modern Africa, together with discovered determinants influences some barriers which thwart the successful implementation of development aid.

Local development aid shown on the example of non-profit organization Njova in the field of Education

The work deals with development aid. Diploma thesis is focused on development, development aid, then the thesis is focused on the performance of the different actors of development aid and ways to help in the past and today. The diploma thesis describes the MDGs, examples of potential obstacles to development assistance, also it describes development assistance offered by the Czech Republic. Finally, thesis focuses on the development assistance in education, which is actually the more specific goal of this work. The work describes a Zambia circumstances and non-profit organization Njovu, which operates its projects in the poorest parts of Lusaka. Czech bilateral foreign development cooperation projects in the context of the third millennium development goal

This thesis analyses bilateral development cooperation of the Czech Republic in the context of the third Millennium Development Goal (MDG 3), which represents gender equality. Using secondary data analysis and case study as a main methodological concept, this paper will find an answer to the question of how much attention is paid to gender perspective in bilateral projects of the Czech development cooperation. Thesis defines key terms, and through using the secondary data analysis, focuses on strategic development, financial sources and sectorial and territorial priorities. Furthermore, thesis will also use a case study to analyse a bilateral project, which shows the difference between declared commitments of the Czech development cooperation and the implementation.
